I think this post took me more than an hour, although it is a relatively simple one. I'm not a fast writer. I didn't record the time I spent on my blog posts, but I feel on average I need two hours on a post.

I have a lot of thoughts every day and sometimes I write them down briefly at #3 and https://github.com/rbind/yihui/issues/15. Then I wait till I have time to expand them to full posts.

Another thing I should mention is that I use the English dictionary very frequently, even though I mostly use simple words. The dictionary is not only for the meaning of words, but also example sentences.
