I haven't used Updog. Do you know how it compares to Snew?
I don't know Snew (what is it?), but I like the idea of Updog, which is turn a Dropbox folder into a website, i.e. Updog is a middleman to serve files to your visitors via http[s]; it does not really store your files on its server, but simply reads files from your Dropbox folder after you authenticate it to do so. You can protect the website by password but it is a Pro feature. I just love the idea that I don't need to explicitly upload files. All I need to do is to write files to the Dropbox folder, and they will be available shortly after Dropbox finishes syncing them.

Hi Yihui,
Our research team is working on a twitter classification/named entity extraction project written in python, and we would like to publish our results online. Since I'm more familiar with RStudio than Python, I wonder if there is something similar to blogdown in python? We've combined bash, python, and R engine in a single rmarkdown document and knitted it to pdf &html. But we hope to publish it in an interactive way. Thanks!
Sorry, but I don't really use Python, so I don't know if there is a similar tool in Python (my guess is no, because there is a long tool chain behind blogdown).

emm. I have to say gifs attract too much attention when you want to keep reading articles since it repeats again and again, though it's really funny.
Blogs have long contents to read so people don't want to be distracted. Most of the time I see a gif, I smile and then keep reading, but it's really hard to keep on. So I drag the scroll-bar down to hide the gif.
A funny picture is much better than a gif, if possible.
I do the same thing as you do (hide the gif). I agree it is very distracting.
