It is definitely possible. At least you can use the XML package to parse the HTML pages and record the data...

Agree. That's why ``Ripley'' is a verb in the R community -- he cares a lot about details and his patience is really amazing (these years he must have written the sentence "provide commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code" for thousands of times).
